چکیده

An effective Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov-type interaction is calculated for the Hubbard model in second order in the coupling by means of flow equations. A stability analysis is performed in order to obtain the transition into various possible phases. We find, that the second order contribution weakens the tendency for the antiferromagnetic transition. Apart from a possible antiferromagnetic transition the d-wave Pomeranchuk instability recently reported by Halboth and Metzner is usually the strongest instability. A newly found instability is of p-wave character and yields band-splitting. In the BCS-channel one obtains the strongest contribution for d x 2 −y 2-waves. Other types of instabilities of comparable strength are also reported.

We present the many-particle Hamiltonian model of Lipkin, Meshkov and Glick in the context of deformed polynomial algebras and show that its exact solutions can be easily and naturally obtained within this formalism. The Hamiltonian matrix of each j multiplet can be split into two submatrices associated to two distinct irreps of the deformed algebra. Their invariant subspaces correspond to even...

Motivated by the evidence for a finite neutrino mass we examine anew the interaction of neutrinos in a magnetic field. We present the rate for radiative scattering for both massless and massive neutrinos in the standard model and give the corresponding numerical estimates. We also consider the effects arising from a possible neutrino magnetic moment.

Recent developments in the analysis of finite temperature dissipationless transport in inte-grable quantum many body problems are presented. In particular, we will discuss: (i) the role played by the conservation laws in systems as the spin 1/2 Heisenberg chain and the one-dimensional Hubbard model, (ii) exact results obtained using the Bethe ansatz method on the long time decay of current corr...

The one-dimensional SU(n) Hubbard model is investigated numerically for n = 2, 3, 4, and 5 at half filling and 1/n filling using the density-matrix renormalization-group (DMRG) method. The energy gaps and various quantum information entropies are calculated. In the half-filled case, finite spin and charge gaps are found for arbitrary positive U if n > 2. Furthermore, it is shown that the transi...
